PA Images/Alamy Images

FightsATW gathers some celebrities to give their prediction on Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk.

On Saturday night, the undisputed heavyweight crown will be placed on someone’s head, barring a draw. WBC & Lineal champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) will face unified champion Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) in one of the most anticipated heavyweight title fights in recent years. There hasn’t been an undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield on November 13, 1999. Not only is the undisputed crown on the line, but each fighter’s undefeated record is also on the line. It’s a big enough fight to make the world stop, and on Saturday, the anticipation is that it will.

With this fight being such a big event, FightsATW reached out to some celebrities for their takes, including two boxing hall of famers, Hollywood actors & directors, music industry artists & more.

TYSON FURY VS OLEKSANDR USYK BETTING ODDS

TYSON FURY VS OLEKSANDR USYK PREDICTIONS

George Foreman, Boxing Hall of Famer: Usyk

I think Tyson Fury has been knocked down too many times, and once that happens to you, it takes ages to get your legs back. He’ll probably have the best plan, but man, the legs don’t react well to the punches anymore. After about six rounds, Fury is going to be in the wild country again. At this point, there is a better chance that the smaller heavyweight can get the knockdown. I was reading about Joe Frazier, and he said that he was so small that he would get even smaller against the bigger guys. That was how he was able to knock so many people out. Fury’s knockdowns against Wilder can come back to haunt him, but the one thing about him is that he’s gritty. If I were a betting man, I certainly wouldn’t bet against him, but I would give Usyk a slight edge. Usyk by decision. (The biopic Big George Foreman is now available on Netflix & digital platforms worldwide.)

Holt McCallany, Hollywood Actor (The Iron Claw, Mindhunter, Lights Out): Usyk

Oleksandr Usyk has extraordinary footwork, hand speed, and ring I.Q. He’ll need all of it if he hopes to beat the bigger, stronger Tyson Fury on Saturday. Back-to-back training camps may have helped Fury shake off the rust from his uninspiring bout with Francis Ngannou, but it won’t be enough to catch the elusive Ukrainian southpaw. Usyk by controversial split decision. (The Iron Claw is now available on HBO MAX.

Michael Moorer, Former Unified heavyweight champion & 2024 Boxing Hall of Fame Inductee: Fury

Fury has too much weight and knows how to use it to his advantage. I’m picking Tyson Fury to win by decision as the fight will go the distance.

Malik Whitfield, Hollywood Actor/Director (The Bastard Sons, Still Here): Fury

It’s such a toss-up. Fury has enough fundamentals to make it work. I think it goes the distance, and I’m leaning towards Fury. I think both will take their foot off the gas late in the fight. Don’t be surprised if you see a lot of hugging.

Rsonist, Multi-Platinum Producer (Heatmakerz): Usyk

If it’s the same Fury that showed up to the Ngannou fight, I see Usyk winning by decision. Usyk fights like a heavyweight version of (Vasiliy) Lomachenko. Fury relies on leaning on you and if he slimmed up, he loses that advantage. Fury has to be light on his feet, but Usyk has too many angles. Fury is a great boxer but Usyk is next level regarding footwork. Usyk is like a ballerina in there, and that’s what caused Anthony Joshua problems in their two fights.

Kevin Interdonato, Actor/Director (Malicious, The Bastard Sons): Usyk

I’ve been waiting for this for a long, long time, and I think the king must be uncrowned. I’m going with Usyk by split decision. Usyk is the total package. He’s smart, and I feel like he’s been well-prepared and studied for this fight. I don’t see Uysk being thrown off his game by Fury’s excessive faints and flippy jabs. He probably has a solid game plan, and I don’t see a man with his dedication and mentality being thrown off.

Zachary Ochoa, Super lightweight fighter: Fury

I’ve been craving this fight for a while, and someone is about to reign. This is a very hard fight to choose the outcome for. I am going with Tyson Fury, as his size is amazing. He uses everything he has (Height, weight, arm length). He literally can do anything, but when it comes to boxing, he uses his mind very well. This will be a hard fight for both fighters, but Usyk will have a rough time. Fury will win not only because of his size but also his mind.

Dj Scream (Big Facts Podcast on Revolt TV, The Dj Scream Show 96.1 The Beat): Fury

Fury is an animal. I wouldn’t want to get in the ring with him (laughs). I think it will be a slugfest that goes the distance. Usyk can win if he puts Fury down and knocks him out, which isn’t impossible. I think it will go the distance, and Fury will be victorious, but we’ve seen crazier things happen recently in boxing.

Bronze Nazareth, Music Producer, Wu-Tang Alum: Fury

Fury is one of the best at learning his opponent and switching up during the fight. I don’t know what Fury was doing during the Ngannou fight, but he will dominate in this one. One of his top features is his feints, as you never know where he is coming from, which confuses most boxers. Fury by decision

Prediction Panel Results: 5-4 for Tyson Fury

My Three Cents

The panel is close, and I’m going to tilt it even more for Fury as I believe he will squeeze out a decision. It is a tough fight to pick, but Fury has shown himself to be his best when it matters the most. Does Usyk have that in him? On Saturday night we will find out who is the king of the heavyweights.
